The firm purchased the £250,000 NexPress 2100 after receiving a positive response from its clients about the possibility of introducing digital production.
Managing director Eddie Holder told printweek.com: "We began to look into going digital more than nine months ago, and because we already had a Kodak [platesetter] installed, it leant itself well to choosing the NexPress.
"When we started talking to existing clients to discuss the potential for digital services, we received a very positive reaction."
The printer has no plans to shelve its litho work though. "It won't take anything away from our litho business. It will complement it and we really do see it as an added-value service for our customers," added Holder.
The press, the first to be installed in the Teesside area, has already begun to pay off.
"Since having it installed last week, we have already had orders from new clients," said Holder.
