A pilot meeting in Amsterdam on September 6 will encourage SME label printers to exchange information with peers, which the self-adhesive labelling body hopes will put them in a position to compete with bigger companies.
"I call it the Weight Watchers' principle," said Finat president Jan Frederik Vink. "We bring people together in the same situation so they can help and encourage each other to find solutions."
Vink added that although the initial meetings would be small, the plan is to "develop programmes" and set the "benchmark" for an industry needing "world-class operating standards".
