The web-cleaning system will remove dust and debris from each of the press's five towers once the Commander is installed at Broughton's Preston site toward the end of summer.
The Jetstream automatically cleans the web before it has the chance to contaminate the press, offering the longest possible cycles between blanket cleaning, claimed the manufacturer.
Broughton has experience of Baldwin products, with the manufacturer's spray dampening systems fitted to all seven of its Goss presses. It initially included Baldwin's Maxima spray dampening and Oxy-Dry blanket cleaning in the KBA contract before opting for the Jetstream as well.
Baldwin UK sales and service director John Leek said: "The new press was specified with brush blanket cleaning and spray dampening. The fact that they've come back to Baldwin shows they were pleased."
The KBA Commander is part of a £12m upgrade at the Lancashire printer, which includes factory extension and web ancillaries. Once it is up and running, the machine will have the capacity to print 80 pages in full-colour at 80,000cph.
Broughton technical director Tim Lavell said: "The market is growing and we need extra colour capacity, which is what the Commander will give us.
"However, even a press of this calibre needs to be combined with accessories that will automate functions, if the full potential of quality and output are to be reached."
