British Firm Moves From Solutions to Production

British packaging solutions firm Automated Packaging Systems has been given the go ahead to venture into food packaging.

The company signalled its move towards the food packaging market earlier this year with the launch of FAS Sprint, a bagging solution specifically designed for environments where frequent bag changes and daily wash-downs are essential.

The product is especially suited to frozen and IQF food products, fresh produce, snack foods, pet foods and multi or variety packs.

The British Retail Consortium Institute of Packaging accreditation was awarded without the need for new systems, Automated Packaging Systems marketing manager Paul Hayden says.

"Automated Packaging Systems has always maintained very high standards of technical and quality management. The fact that those standards were high enough to meet all requirements without the need for new systems is a fantastic achievement," he says.
