The Edinburgh-based printer, which is celebrating its 30th year, is hoping to extend capacity for short-run jobs, including property schedules, reports and newsletters.
The press, installed in July, takes three hours to complete a task that previously would have taken the company a day, said the firm.
Rayprographics managing director Gurney Ghatoray told printweek.com that the new press will be used for existing clients and to attract new business.
Ghatoray said: "The digital press means we can now compete with litho printers in terms of speed and price on short-run jobs, such as financial reports and proposals.
"We will soon launch a marketing programme by sending out samples to show existing and prospective customers exactly what the machine can do."
The new press replaces two Canon CLC 5100s, which the 12-strong company has been using for the last four years.
