Offset Productions adds Asitrade Foliostar to £3m shopping list

Offset Productions is the first UK company to order Asitrade's Foliostar sheet-to-sheet laminator, which launched in October 2006.

The purchase is part of the Aylesford, Kent-based print and packaging specialist's £3m investment programme, which includes a six-colour KBA press with complementary finishing lines, announced last month.

Offset managing director Hugh Jarvis said: "We looked at other machines on the market, but the build quality of the Asitrade stood out."

The Asitrade Foliostar 165 Matic runs at 9,000 sheets per hour and can accommodate sheets of corrugated and cartonboard from 500x500mm up to 1,650x1,650mm.

The modular Foliostar can be expanded at a later date to include a downstacker and inverter or be converted to a sheet-to-web configuration.

The machine is suited to box plants keen to bring litho-lamination in-house.

Wyatt Birchall, Bobst Group business manager for corrugated products in the UK and Ireland, said the Foliostar "features all the usual Asitrade engineering quality and is very sensibly priced".

Bobst is the UK sales arm of Asitrade.
