The Coca-Cola Company is the first advertiser to opt for 'High Definition' (HD) billboards, following an agreement with outdoor advertising firm JCDecaux.
The deal, which will allow Coca-Cola to advertise on some of the country's most high-profile sites, is the first to utilise a new range of "entirely recyclable" posters.
The HD posters are made from a new form of recyclable vinyl and are designed to be clipped in and out of the billboard frame.
The tie-up includes the design of future sites, use of new technology and covers Coca-Cola's full range of brands, including Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero, Powerade and Schweppes.
Coca-Cola GB (CCGB) marketing director Cathryn Sleight said: "The development of the first reusable and recyclable posters is a significant step in the environmental progress of outdoor advertising and we're delighted to be a part of that."
JCDecaux managing director of sales Spencer Berwin said: "We are very excited about the development of HD posters, which we believe sets a new standard in the industry in terms of recyclability and the quality of display."
