FFEI plans Graph Expo launch for RealVue

FFEI is set to launch visual simulation software RealVue 3D at Graph Expo 2007 in September.

The software allows printers and marketers to design, present and approve jobs through a 3D document viewer.

The tool outputs a platform-independent Java file that allows any computer user to display the print document, turn the pages, rotate the viewing angle and zoom into detail. In addition, changes to viewing conditions and print characteristics, such as stock weight, finish and texture can be carried out.

Accurate simulation of these print features allows their impact to be evaluated before any expenditure on print production.

The Hemel Hempstead-based firm claimed each RealVue 3D file could be produced from PDFs in "seconds", and could then be turned into print-ready pages or designer spreads.

David Brosse, head of marketing communications at beta-tester Ceridian, told printweek.com: "Our creative team had a good look at the software in its beta phase and we were very pleased with it. The detail in which the pages could be turned was impressive and we plan to start using it on our website in the near future.

"Initially, we started using RealVue 3D for the readability of the visual simulation; being able to turn pages and rotate the viewing angle made reviewing our lengthy PDF manuals and HR documents a much easier and more attractive job," Brosse added.

RealVue 3D is available in either standard or professional editions. UK pricing has yet to be confirmed. Graph Expo 07 takes place in Chicago on 9-12 September.
