Best Cover UV grows market share with Olro tie-up

Best Cover UV is making inroads to offer the "largest single plant capacity for UV varnishing in the UK" after setting up a southern operation and striking a strategic partnership with Essex-based Olro Print Finishers.

It has also ploughed £800,000 into a new Heidelberg coating press for its Leeds head office.

Best Cover is operating the bespoke Heidelberg CD 102 LYYLX at its headquarters, with its older CD 102 LYLYX, which was the UK's first CD 102 configured as a dedicated coater, now up and running at its southern plant, next door to Olro.

The two companies look to benefit from the link-up by "jointly marketing their services".

Darren Crake, managing director of £1.1m-turnover Best Cover, said: "[Olro] offers a similar service, but on a smaller scale.

"We're jointly going to go out and market both businesses and sell what we offer. It's a win-win situation."

According to Crake, the deal makes Olro a "one-stop shop" for overall UV, lamination, spot UV, stitching, folding and die-cutting, while providing 10-staff Best Cover with an "established customer base" in the south-east.

Best Cover UV was established in January 2006 and operates across the country, with clients from Cornwall to Scotland.
