VIP promotes packaging best practice

Packaging printers need to take time to fully assess their activities to improve their performance, delegates at a Vision in Print conference on best practice heard yesterday (October 31).

"No matter how sophisticated the operation, everyone can benefit from evaluating what they do from the ground up," said Neil Falconer, print industry specialist at Pira International.

He said good practice in the print industry was mostly fragmented and without process, and that it was important not just to collect data, but also to use it effectively.

"It's not what you know, but what you do with what you know that counts," added Falconer.

Delegates in Daventry heard presentations on four areas of best practice – maintenance, purchasing, customer service and management information systems – as well as case studies from printers.

The conference was based around four studies into each of the areas. Click here for more information.
