Harrier LLC, parent company of photo processing firm Truprint has invested in a second Duplo Digital Colour Finisher, in anticipation of a 300% rise in demand for its personalised greeting card service.
The Devon-based firm has taken on a new un-named customer, which will require a high level of work "out of season" and is expected to significantly boost the printer's greeting card output.
Harrier LLC account and product development manager James Belton told printweek.com that the existing Duplo machine has resulted in a "massive reduction in labour" and works great "from end to end".
"We anticipate a growth of 300-400% in our card output and the new Duplo will help cater for this," added Belton.
The personalised products company prints its cards on its two digital HP Indigo 5000 presses, a figure it may add too "if and when required."
The DC-645 can handle paper from 110-350gsm and paper sizes up to 370 x 650mm. It is designed for high volume users and can finish a job that required cutting on four sides with a centre crease at 1560 sheets per hour.
The new kit joins a finishing portfolio that includes an MFK-35 knife folder and a GBC laminating line.
