Huhtamaki has made two moves into the coffee market, with the launch of a larger paper cup for vending machines and a deal to supply plastic tumblers to Costa.
The 340ml paper cup is designed to help vending machines compete with high street coffee shops.
Ray McNamara, Huhtamaki UK vending sales manager, foodservice division, said the new cup offered superb insulation to keep larger drinks hotter for longer. Cups can be custom printed with company logos and are suitable for use with sip-through lids.
Meanwhile, the firm’s clear plastic Polarity tumblers with domed lids will be used for Costa’s Frescato ice blended drinks. Made from a combination of APET and rPET, the tumblers retain the rigidity and clearness of previous APET versions.
The tumblers are printed with the Costa logo and a summery design, and come in three sizes. The Frescato drinks will be rolled out in cafes from this month.
